Whistling In The Dark

Whistling in the Dark

There are times you have the time
To do things you want to do
Like spend time creating rhyme,
And you meet the person you
Used to be before the last
Catastrophe, finally past,
Came, took it away from you.

And you find yourself away
For several or more years
From what you did each day
And you develop new peers.
And the people you once knew
Now seem like strangers to you.
Luck took it away from you.

And just when you’re settling down
A new personal earthquake
Comes and you think you might drown
But you stay alive and take
This one too the best you can,
Life doesn’t work with a plan.
Time takes it away from you.
